Proverbs 8

Wisdom cries out for us at every corner. She waits where paths meet, where she knows we will be tempted to step on the path of the wicked. She wants us to hear her pleas and to be filled with the knowledge that she has to offer! For it is truth and it is more valuable than anything of this earth. Not silver, nor gold, nor rubies will follow us into eternity, but the things we hold in our heart remain. The knowledge of wisdom is what will make us rich-- rich in spirit and in faith! Choose to follow the teachings of our Father and record them on your heart's tablet. To be filled with the wisdom of God is to fear Him. That reverent fear blesses us with sound judgement {that the man from chapter 7 lacked} along with discernment, peace, and strengthened faith. Wisdom is part of God, for it is of Him. Wisdom was alive before any aspect of our earth was created. Wisdom rejoiced in the presence of the Lord! She delighted in His creation. To say that Wisdom is wise seems rather laughable {similar to what many saw in chapter 4, verse 7}, but if Wisdom herself is rejoicing in God and delighting in His works, then shouldn't we as well? If we are called to be wise, then shouldn't we imitate the way of Wisdom? Those who keep on the path of righteousness and seek after the knowledge of God will be blessed. We are not to rebuke what our Father speaks to us, but we are to listen and hear His cry. It is then that we will find the true essence of life, a life in the light of our most heavenly Father. I like that, in verse 34, Solomon talks about how God desires us to be "watching daily at [His] doors" and "waiting at [His] doorway." In all of the previous chapters we see men approaching the doorways of adulteresses and being lured into their homes. Well, God wants us at His door step! He wants us to enter His home and rejoice in eternal life with Him!

"For those who find me find life
   and receive favor from the LORD." {v. 35}

I will not be posting another personal blog tonight, for I feel drained and slightly unnerved. So I bid you goodnight, dearest loves. Pleasant dreams.

I love that part about God wanting us to show up at his door steps! That put things in a whole new light that I don't think I have ever fully grasped (not that I have just now... I just get it a little more each time). How cool is it that the God who created everything we see, and don't see, wants us to be at His door daily waiting anxiously to praise Him and rejoice in Him?! Bah! He is so good!
