Proverbs 3

The word of God should always be present in our life, regardless of if we're driving down the road, sitting at church, or merely walking to class. Keeping His teaching in your heart and at the forefront of your mind will allow you to live your life completely and fully. As Solomon tells us in chapter 2, God is our protector, and he leads us down a path of righteousness. The more contact we have with our Father and more time we invest in our relationship with Him, the longer and more prosperous life we will live.

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
   bind them around your neck,
   write them on the tablet of your heart." {v. 3}

We are told to remain loving and faithful in all situations, forever and always. To show God's love to some and not others is not acceptable. Better yet, we are to love GOD in all situations! Regardless of our struggles, pains, and heartaches, God is our Father and deserves to be praised, loved, and glorified. He is always showering us with love, why not at least try to return the favor?

"5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
   and he will make your paths straight.
 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
   fear the LORD and shun evil."

This is one we all know, I think. Our understanding of life {it's purpose, meaning, etc.} will never be superior to God's. To think otherwise is foolish, and the {and as he states in verse 35, fools will be held up to shame}. If the Lord is the ultimate source of knowledge, and if He is the foundation for wisdom, then there is no way that we could ever understand ANYTHING without Him. Taking note of that will keep us on the path of goodness that Solomon mentioned in chapter 2.

Let us be humble, and accept the wisdom that God so desperately wants us to have. That knowledge is more of a treasure than any earthly mineral, substance, or object could ever be, and to be filled with it is to be truly blessed!

Again we are reminded that God is our rock and protector. He watches over those who are faithful to Him. He will not let us fall or live in constant fear. He will bless us with confidence, and He will keep us safe in the shadow of His wing.

Reach out to your neighbors! Do not withhold the good news from them or cast blame/negativity were it need not not be aimed. We should not be envious of those who delight in ways of the wicked, for they will be cursed and shamed. Take hold of the Lord's hand and walk with Him down the path of goodness, He will lead us to eternal life with Him :)

We have an awesome God guys, FOR REAL!

I kind of love that we could never understand anything without the Lord. It makes me feel like I have to be less independent and that I can be a little more needy towards Him than I usually am. Not in a winey way, but I think He likes it when we frequently come to Him with questions and conversation and needs. He delights in us (Ps. 147:11)!!!
